Adult Sips in Plymouth

Adult Sips in Plymouth

Plymouth’s breweries, wine bars & cocktail lounges worth uncorking or uncapping

Looking for a few relaxing spots to sip grown-up drinks around town? Whether you’re craving a casual flight of kombucha, a crisp craft beer, a glass of wine by the waterfront, or a perfectly balanced cocktail — here’s your guide to where Plymouth pours its heart out.

Mayflower Brewing Company

Proudly calling itself America’s Hometown Brewery, Mayflower was founded by a descendant of John Alden, a beer barrel cooper on board the Mayflower. They feature crisp ales, hazy IPAs, a robust porter and seasonal beers—all crafted using traditional brewing methods and ingredients. Grab a pint in the taproom, relax in the beer garden, or take a tour. It’s a popular go-to for a classic, no-frills, thoughtfully brewed beer. In addition to its brewery/taproom location, Mayflower sets up a seasonal outdoor beer garden at the Pine Hills Saturday and Sunday afternoons through mid-October. It’s a fun, relaxed venue with live music, food trucks and welcoming community vibe.

Untold Brewing (Plymouth Taproom)

Located just off Route 3A in North Plymouth, Untold offers 12 taps pouring beer and house-made seltzer cocktails alongside non-alcoholic options and simple snacks. The space is clean, cozy, and pet / family friendly. Bring your own food or pop by when they have a food truck on-site …perfect for unwinding with friends.

Independent Fermentations (IndieFerm)

More than a brewery: IndieFerm is Plymouth’s fermentation hub, offering beer, kombucha, a hop farm, and a home-brew supply shop. They specialize in Belgian and German style beers brewed with locally grown ingredients as well as handcrafted kombuchas. Their taproom is mellow and inviting—kids can draw on a chalkboard wall and well-behaved dogs are welcome. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays)

Vitamin Sea Brewing (Plymouth Taproom)

Right on historic Water Street, this coastal-vibe taproom serves crisp beers and hard seltzers crafted at their Weymouth brewery. You can grab a locally inspired sour or a refreshing session IPA and enjoy a casual menu of panini sandwiches (they are super tasty & big enough to share). The waterfront patio is a perfect place to unwind and soak in views with a pint in hand. Open daily through the early evening.

Second Wind Brewing Company

Known for a diverse line-up—from Hazy IPA to Hefeweizen and barrel-aged wild ales—Second Wind’s taproom and patio (open Wednesday-Sunday) deliver polished beer and a laid-back scene. Great if you’re after something a bit off beat or craft-curious. Second Wind also has a summer beer garden on the Green at Redbrook on Fridays 3:30-8:30. We look forward to the opening of their second Plymouth location later this year.

Sour Not Sorry Brewing

Claiming the title of Massachusetts’ first sour brewery, Sour Not Sorry is a one-stop for puckered-up fun in Plymouth’s downtown. Ideal if you're in the mood for something tart, funky or bold—and totally different. Their taproom features couches, games and a vibe to match their beers.

Uva Wine Bar

South Shore’s only self-pour wine bar, Uva invites you to taste 48 wines from around the globe by the ounce (2 oz, 4 oz, 6 oz). Founded by best friends, the staff are knowledgeable yet down-to-earth. Order a custom charcuterie board or explore regional craft beers if wine isn’t your thing. It’s a cozy spot with serious flexibility—flavors without the pressure. Reservations are recommended.

Sip at 1620 Wine Bar

On the historic waterfront, 1620 Wine Bar serves award-winning wines, creative craft cocktails and tapas in a speakeasy-styled lounge that’s boutique but never stuffy. Expect ambient lighting, plush seating, mellow live music and thoughtful plates that pair as beautifully with conversation as they do with your drink. They also offer self-guided wine tastings and small flights of their own 1620 Wines.

Plymouth Bay Winery

This isn’t your typical grape winery—here, fruit is in charge. From cranberry, blueberry, and blackberry to apricot, cherry, and concord grape, their wines are bright, playful, and deeply rooted in local flavor. You can taste flights or glasses overlooking the harbor, pick up their fun jelly and sauce lines, and enjoy a front-row view of Plymouth Bay. Reservations are encouraged, especially in the summer weekend afternoons.

Honey Baby Cocktail Bar

Very stylish yet unpretentious, this lounge delivers expertly balanced craft cocktails, seasonal specials, and small bites in a moody-modern setting. It’s highly-rated, walk-in only (no reservations), and offers a vibe that’s upscale but never intimidating—great for unwinding with friends or enjoying a nightcap before bedtime.

Conclusion

Whether you’re winding down after a day of exploring or just looking for a low-key afternoon with good company and even better drinks, Plymouth offers something for everyone. From crisp coastal brews to small-batch wines and creative cocktails, these local spots serve up great flavor without the fuss. So pick a place (or two), settle in, and sip your way into the evening…
